Doc-Film-Net Needs Support!Doc-film-net has been archiving the most important documentaries for the last 4 years and serving these free of charge. Doc-Film-Net has never sort to make profit! This project was provided because many of these documentaries were never shown on television largely because of their controversial nature. In fact documentaries such as 'The Origin of Aids' (No.5) has been so controversial that many legal and non legal (hacking) attempts have been made against doc-film-net for simply providing this information. And The Origin of Aids has STILL NOT been shown on television in the UK! As the site has become increasingly popular the bandwidth costs have also significantly increased. Then earlier this year on 2009/03/20 doc-film-net was cut off from providing any service as the previous hosts decided enough was enough and they were not prepared to support the service for the little money they were charging. Techcrunch (the most popular tech news Internet blog) then picked up and covered the story and as a result some generous offers were made to get us back online. I choose the best deal on the table which was a no strings attached offer of free bandwidth by a company called SimpleCDN. They have however undergone internal changes which boils down to doc-film-net yet again being put on death row unless we can pay our way. Therefore I have been forced to redesign the service so that only limited viewing access is provided then users are asked to pay for unrestricted access.
